Like any contact sport, it is possible to be injured while wrestling, but the risk of injury is relatively low. According to a yearly study by the National Center for Catastrophic Sport Injury Reserach, wrestling ranks lower than gymnastics, ice hockey, softball, football, and lacrosse for number of injuries each year.

Any time is a great time to learn how to wrestle! For young kids we start by building basic physical awareness and control of the body through various movements, drills, and games. As a beginner develops control, flexibility, and confidence, we focus more on technique and competition.
For older individuals we work at whatever pace the person wants to train at.
It is always wise to show up for practice in performance clothing. This includes most regular athletic wear such as shorts, sweat pants, t-shirts, etc. Wrestling shoes (~$55+), headgear (~$40+), and mouth guards (~$5+) are optional for our classes, but are highly recommended for the sport.
Often times better than boys!
Women's wrestling is the fastest growing scholastic sport in the United States! Since 1994, the number of women who wrestle in high school has grown from 804 to 16,562 (as of 2018) and 63 colleges now sponsor a varsity women’s wrestling program.
